A classic of the indoor plant world since its launch in 1987. Mr Kitly sought out this planter design and collaborated with the company who makes them to create and launch this Mr Kitly exclusive self-watering plant pot range. An original idea and Mr Kitly collaboration with Décor.

About the pots:

A lightweight planter that helps to take care of your plants - for home, office or anywhere. Clean, modern, and colourific plant pots. And large, for the bigger plants in your life. The pioneering Australian design in self-watering planters. Simply water from above the first few days, then top up via the water well at the bottom.

About the designer:

Richard Carlson has been awarded hundreds of Australian design awards, and his Décor classic BYO Wine Bottle Carrier is a permanent exhibit in the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Richard has been inducted into the Design institute of Australia’s Hall of Fame.

Sizes:

  • 375mm pot (375mm w x 300mm h - 220mm planting depth)
  • 300mm pot (300mm w x 255mm h - 180mm planting depth)
  • 250mm pot (250mm w x 210mm h - 150mm planting depth)
  • 170mm pot (170mm w x 145mm h - 100mm planting depth)

How to use:

  • Simply plant your plant in as you would into any pot using good quality potting mix.
  • Water from above the first time to help the potting mix settle in. Excess water gathers in the waterwell at the bottom.
  • The plant begins to wick up the water it needs from the waterwell via the potting mix.
  • Once the waterwell at the bottom dries out it's time to begin topping up the water via the waterwell at the bottom.
  • Topping up via the waterwell helps the plant get a good airing out between watering.
  • Don't be afraid to let the waterwell remain dry for a while as well - especially in cold and wet and dark areas when plants don't need as much water and the potting mix remains wetter longer.
  • In hot and dry and sunny areas you may find the waterwell needing topping up more often as the plant is more thirsty.
  • Not only is it convenient and looks great, the pot is great way to see how much water is being used and to get to know your plants and their needs!

An Excellent Introduction to Game Programming using GDScript/Godot
Format: Paperback
You’ll get up and going quickly with an overview of Godot and then jump straight into GDScript by learning about variables, control flow, collections, loops, object-oriented programming, and concepts like DRY, KISS, etc. Then the fun begins by building game mechanics while learning specifics of Godot such as the node/scene system, reusing scenes, cameras, collision detection, creating user interfaces, and more. It also covers local multiplayer where you'll learn the basics of computer networking followed by learning about built-in multiplayer nodes provided by Godot. The final chapters cover some advanced programming patterns like event bus, object pooling, and state machines. By the end, you’ll have a fully playable single/local multiplayer game in the style of Vampire Survivors! I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this book and highly recommend it for anyone who wants to get started on their journey to learn programming and even for experienced game programmers who want to learn Godot and GDScript.

Fine so far.
Format: Paperback
I am looking for some of the code from exercises, but can't find it in the project files, and they say don't copy it from the ebook...?

Very comprehensive and approachable
Format: Kindle
This e-book covers everything starting from basic general programming concepts and Godot development, going into (relatively) advanced game development programming patterns that are used throughout the industry. It explains not only what the best practices are but why they are used in a simple and understandable way, and provides points of reflection and knowledge testing with quiz sections. I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn game development as a hobby, anyone interested in learning Godot, and even for anyone trying to learn game programming in general and wanted a simple place to start.

Not a Scripting Book. Wrong title, should read " Learn Godot for Beginners"
Format: Paperback
The book was not designed to focus on GDscript, it had a snippets for basic game interactions, but was primarily a make a simple game in Godot. I returned it.

Excellent guide for those seeking to learn.
Format: Paperback
I highly recommend this book if you are getting into Godot and want something tangible to sift through. the Book does an excellent job of explaining and curating a good foundation by explaining and stepping you through the Nodes and their purposes and potential usage. it touches on multiplayer(client synchronization, etc), and other fantastic aspects like object pools and a brief intro into state machines that reflect a professional environment that respects your intelligence but still graceful enough for beginners to digest, understand and grow their own creative projects from these roots.
